Frequently asked questions

How many dogs will be in the pack?

We will never take any more than 6 dogs per adventure. In my experience 6 dogs is the perfect number to maintain safety and control.

Does my dog need to be desexed?

Bitches do not need to be spayed to join. However, if the bitch is in heat or pregnant she will be unable to adventure until she is not in season or no longer caring for pups.

I prefer male dogs to be neutered as they can be quite disruptive in a pack environment. I am willing to assess this on a case by case basis.

What if my dog doesn’t get along with the pack?

Like people, not every dog gets along with every dog. I will try my best to select dogs with similar temperaments and personalities, but if for any reason there are issues. I will try to find a space in another more suited pack.

Where do you walk?

We will spend lots of time in the forest but are not limited to beach adventures, given its not sea lion season. We try to choose areas that are away from traffic for your dog's safety. There are also pest control operations in certain seasons of the year so we will always avoid those areas until they are clear.

What areas in Dunedin do you service?

I service most areas in Dunedin and travel to both sides of the harbour as far as Port Chalmers and Broad Bay. I also service as far as Mosgiel and the suburbs in between.

What happens in case of an emergency?

When I come along to meet your dog I will get details of your vet provider. In the unlikely case of an emergency, you will be my first point of contact. If I cannot get hold of you and I feel it is necessary, I will contact your delegated veterinary service and organise to have your dog seen.

Does my dog need to be booked weekly?

While I might consider taking dogs for one off adventures on a case by case basis, I do prefer bookings to be weekly. This allows your dog to settle into a pack environment and form friendships. Consistency is key!
